How do I mount a spindle on a CNC router?
Bolt the bracket squarely to the Z-axis plate, slide the spindle in with the cable socket facing where the cable runs, and tighten the clamp evenly. Before final tightening, tram the spindle so it is square to the table in both directions, using a dial indicator, then tighten and recheck.
What spindle bracket size do I need?
Measure the spindle body diameter with a calliper and choose a bracket with the same bore, such as 65, 80 or 100 mm. A bracket that is too large will not grip, and forcing a spindle into a small bracket can distort the housing and bearings. Also check the bracket's bolt pattern against your Z plate.
