BT30 tool holder, ISO20 tool holder and ER collet tool holder options
Match the holder to the spindle taper first. A BT30 tool holder (with ER32 or ER40) suits 5.5 to 9 kW BT30 ATC spindles; an ISO20 tool holder (ER16 or ER20) suits small high speed ATC spindles; ISO30 suits HSD-style woodworking spindles; BT40 holders suit BT40 spindles and VMCs. An ER collet tool holder lets one holder take many cutter sizes. A spindle gripper inside the spindle clamps the holder's pull stud. Tool holder price in India depends on taper, collet size, length and balance grade.

What is the difference between BT30 and BT40?
Both are 7:24 steep tapers; the number is the taper size. BT40 is larger and stiffer, carries bigger cutters and more torque, and is standard on VMCs and heavy spindles. BT30 is smaller and lighter, allowing faster tool changes and higher RPM on smaller spindles and routers. A holder only fits a spindle of the same taper.
How do I replace the gripper in an ATC spindle?
Isolate power and air, remove the tool, then remove the front cover or drawbar parts as the spindle maker describes to reach the gripper (collet fingers). Fit the new gripper of the exact type for your taper and pull stud, reassemble, and check clamping force and tool release before use. If unsure, send the spindle for service.
